Therefore, a sender can deny to have sent the message.

Traffic analysis protection
IPSec cannot prevent the outside analysis of network traffic flows.
Therefore, it is never clear what information is being accessed by outside adversaries.

Denial of service attack protection
IPSec cannot protect a host against an outside attack.
This adversely affects the host's performance.
