IPSec ensures privacy of the message.

    If Bob sends "I love you." to Alice, an malicious user could wiretap the message. 


IPSec encrypts the IP packet by using the shared key.
So the attacker cannot view the message.
Only the intended recipients are able to view the message.
There is Encapsulating Security Payload, ESP for this purpose.
